Traversent Car Rentals & Tours Ltd is a Zambian-owned car hire company in Lusaka, serving travellers, families, companies, NGOs and research projects since 2016.

What we do

  • Self-drive car hire in Lusaka and across Zambia: SUVs, 4x4s, pickups, sedans and economy cars.
  • Chauffeur-driven hire for executives, delegations, weddings and tours.
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA).
  • Fleet hire for companies and NGOs, with monthly rates and one invoice for several vehicles.
  • Group transport with minibuses and a mini coach, and trips to Livingstone and the Victoria Falls.

How we work

  • Every rental has a signed rental agreement and a photo condition report at handover and return.
  • Every vehicle is comprehensively insured and leaves with a full tank.

Does Traversent offer car hire at Lusaka airport?

Yes. Customers can collect their vehicle at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA). Add the flight number when booking and the car or driver is ready on arrival.

Can I hire a car with a driver in Lusaka?

Yes. A professional driver costs ZMW 471 per day on self-drive vehicles and is included on the Land Cruiser 300, Alphard, Hiace and mini coach.

Does Traversent rent vehicles to companies and NGOs?

Yes. Companies, NGOs, research projects and government institutions hire single vehicles or whole fleets, with monthly rates, drivers, one quotation and one invoice, and invoicing on account for approved clients.

How much does car hire cost in Lusaka?

Daily prices start at ZMW 837 for an economy car. Rentals of 7 days or more get 5% off and 30 days or more 10% off. See the fleet page for every category.

What do I need to rent a car?

NRC or passport, and a driving licence held for at least 2 years.

Can I cancel?

Free cancellation up to 2 days (48 hours) before pick-up, with a full refund of what you paid.
